are many great artists in the world. For example, Leonardo da Vinci,
Vincent van Gogh, and Picasso are world-famous artists. But
if you visit Maryland in America,
you can meet a very special artist. His name is Sam. So what is so
special about him?
Sam is well-known for his beautifully colored paintings. What’s surprising
is that he is a dog! He is 10 years old. His owner Mary Stadelbacher brought him 4 years ago to
train him as a rescue dog. But she failed to do it. So, one
day, she decided to teach him how
to paint. “I saw dolphins and elephants painting.
So I thought why not a dog?” said Mary. “To my surprise, he really
enjoys painting!”
Now, Sam is a famous artist in America. His paintings have been exhibited
in many galleries in New York and Chicago. Some art collectors have bought
his work. The other day, an old lady even bought Sam’s painting as
a birthday present for her own dog. More surprisingly, recently, one
of his paintings was sold for 1,700 dollars!
“He loves to work using a variety of colors. He layers his paintings with
darker shades first and then moves
on to lighter ones later,” says Mary. “He is
a very unique abstract artist!” |
