On November 12, the Guinness Book of World Records named a white Great Dane from San Diego in America as the world¡¯s tallest dog. His name is Titan. He is 4 years old. Titan weighs 86 kilograms. So, how tall is he?

According to the Guinness Book, he measures 1.1 meters from floor to shoulder. If he is measured from floor to head, he is 1.3 meters. If he stands on his hind legs, he is over 2 meters! Wow! This means, he is much taller than humans.

Titan¡¯s owner Diana Taylor said that he is very gentle and calm. He becomes friends with everyone easily during his daily walks on the beach. Interestingly, due to his tall height, young children often mistake him for a horse or a cow.

Taylor and Titan do a lot of charity work together to help sick dogs. ¡°Titan is magical,¡± said Taylor. ¡°He gets along well with people as well as all dogs, even with the tiny ones! He is also great to travel with. We¡¯ve gone across the country twice. I hope Titan can help people learn more about Great Danes.¡±

Surprisingly, the tallest dog in the world is blind and deaf. When Taylor adopted him as a puppy from a dog shelter, she taught him sign language. As he went blind, they learned to communicate by touch.

Titan is also suffering from epilepsy°£Áú. Titan has to go to the animal hospital for treatment every three weeks. But thanks to his owner¡¯s love, Titan is getting better. Let¡¯s hope the tallest dog on Earth will stay healthy and live a long life!
