Last week, we learned why meditation is good for you. Yes, that¡¯s right. It helps you listen to your heart. Meditation doesn¡¯t cost any money, but it has many benefits for your body and soul. You can meditate whenever, wherever you want. It makes your mind peaceful. This week, why don¡¯t you try meditation with me?

First, lie on a piece of carpet and close your eyes. Let your body relax completely. Breathe evenly in and out. Try not to think of other things. For a moment, just watch your breath. Feel the air flowing in and out of your body. If you continue this for about 5 minutes, you will be able to feel the air flowing in and out. You will feel very comfortable.

Now, you are ready to meditate. Think about a time when you felt very peaceful. Try to breathe in that feeling. Breathe it in and feel the peace flowing throughout your whole body. Imagine that peace as a light that is full of warmth and powerful energy. As you breathe in, feel that the peace is flowing into your heart. Then, let the feeling flow down to your toes and up through your arms and to the top of your head. As you breathe out, try imagining that you are flushing out your fears or the anger that you might have.

Breathe in and out like this for a few minutes. When you feel completely peaceful, stop thinking about your anger or fear. Instead, think about how you can be more peaceful in your life. Then, imagine the whole world filled with peace. You will feel very refreshed and peaceful. Take a deep breath a few times over. vStretch your entire body and open your eyes. Now your meditation is finished. It was easy, wasn¡¯t it?

If you keep practicing this simple meditation every day for about 5 minutes, you will be able to learn how to control your feelings. The next time you are about to get angry over something, remember that angry people make themselves and others around them unhappy. Remember the strength that comes from peace.
