On May 18, a Canadian pianist named Gonzales broke the world record for the longest solo concert in Paris, France. He played the piano for 27 hours, 3 minutes and 44 seconds! He beat former Guinness record holder Prasanna Gudi from India who played raga for 26 hours and 12 minutes last December.

Gonzales played 300 songs for more than 27 hours. To stay awake, he took a 15-minute break after each 3-hour set and a 30-second pause in between songs. He felt very tired, but he played the songs very beautifully.
¡°Months ago, I decided to play the longest solo concert in the world and I trained myself really hard,¡± said Gonzales. ¡°I like to compete with other people. But I couldn¡¯t find any rivals in Paris. So I decided to compete with myself and I won!¡±

The 37-year-old pianist was born in Montreal, Canada. Now he lives in Paris. If you want to see his amazing solo concert, visit www.gonzpiration.com.
