Last Sunday, the World Beard and Moustache Championships were held in Alaska. Over 300 people from more than 12 countries participated in the contest. All of them showed off their amazing beards and mustaches. So, who is the proud winner? His name is David Traver. The 43-year-old man lives in Alaska.

It took David and his hair stylist more than an hour to get his long beard woven into the shape of a snow shoe. Judges thought his style was very creative. They chose him as the winner of the competition. He became the first American to win the championship. ¡°I didn¡¯t expect to win,¡± said David. ¡°But I¡¯m very happy to be the first American winner!¡± he said with a big smile.

The World Beard and Mustache Championships began in Germany in 1990. Since then, many people with wonderful beards and mustaches all over the world take part in the competition every year. Congratulations, David! Your beard is really amazing!
