Korean Student Becomes New Editor of Harvard University Newspaper

Harvard
University is one of the most prestigious universities
in the world.
Many of the smartest students from many countries all around the world
are studying there. Many Korean students also attend Harvard University.
Recently, a Korean student
became the new managing editor of the university¡¯s
newspaper, The Harvard Crimson!
Her
name is Esther Yi. She is a junior studying history and
literature at Harvard. Last November, she was named the managing editor
of The Harvard Crimson. She started working as the new managing editor
from January this year. Esther is the first Korean-American female managing editor of
the newspaper in its 136 years of history! Congratulations, Esther!

Esther will work hard for the newspaper as the managing editor for
one year. She started writing articles for the newspaper
as a staff reporter when she was
a freshman. So far, she has written more
than 200 articles for the newspaper.
Esther was born in New Jersey in 1987. She loved
writing since she was a little girl. In high school, she was the chief
editor for her school¡¯s newspaper, The High Times. ¡°I¡¯m very honored
to become the new managing editor of The Harvard Crimson. I just love
writing. But I¡¯m not sure yet about my future career,¡±
Esther said.
The Harvard
Crimson was founded in 1873. It is the oldest university newspaper
in the world. It is published 5 times a week. Many of the
newspaper¡¯s staff writers go on to become the world¡¯s most influentialjournalists.
American Presidents John F. Kennedy onceserved as the paper¡¯s business
editor and Franklin D. Roosevelt was once the president of the newspaper.
Currently, about 100 students
are working as staff writers.
