According to a new poll, Hillary Clinton is the most admired woman by Americans. The recent survey asked 1,025 Americans ¡°What woman living today do you admire the most?¡± It was conducted by USA TODAY in December, 2009. The majority of respondents answered that they admire Hillary the most.

In the poll, 16 percent picked Hillary as America¡¯s most admired woman. She is the 67th United States Secretary of State. She was born on October 26, 1947 in Chicago. She was a Senator for New York from 2001 to 2009. Before that, she served as First Lady from 1993 to 2001 when her husband Bill Clinton served as the 42nd President of the U.S.

As a matter of fact, Hillary Clinton has been among the top two most admired women in the yearly poll for the past 17 years! If you want to know more about her, you can read books about her. In fact, she also wrote many books herself including an autobiography ¡°Living History¡± and ¡°It Takes a Village.¡± They are very interesting and enjoyable books.

In the same poll, Sarah Palin was chosen as the second most admired woman in America. She was the Governor of Alaska. About 15 percent of the people chose Palin as the most respectable woman. Other than Clinton and Palin, the talk show queen Oprah Winfrey was chosen by 8 percent, and 2 percent picked Condoleezza Rice. Rice served as the 66th Secretary of State before Hillary Clinton. Also, Queen Elizabeth of England was chosen by 2 percent.

As for the men, President Barack Obama topped the list of the most admired living man, taking 30 percent of the vote. He was followed by former President George W. Bush (4 percent), Nelson Mandela (3 percent), Glenn Beck (2 percent), and Pope Benedict XVI (2 percent). Hillary Clinton¡¯s husband, former President Bill Clinton, was also chosen as one of America¡¯s most admired men.
