Do you know what is the bestselling book in the world? Do think it¡¯s Harry Potter? Well, yes, that book is famous too. However, the bestselling book of all time is the Bible. Just like any good book, the Bible wasn¡¯t made in one day. As a matter of fact, it took thousands of years to collect the stories of the Bible. You see, it wasn¡¯t easy to write about stories about God, Jesus and his many followers in one day. The Bible is actually divided into many small books. You can also think of it as a collection of stories from God¡¯s followers.

The first Bible was from the 4th Century. The book was passed on and on through history. So, don¡¯t you agree the original Bible is precious? Sure it is! It¡¯s considered as a treasure. Sadly, over 1600 years passed. And the book has been lost. Until now we were only able to find short pages of the book in different countries. Some of them were in Russia. And there were some more pages found in Greece. For so long, people wanted to collect all the pages and recreate the original Bible.

Here¡¯s something very shocking. Historians have been trying to do this since 1933! Some British historians found 347 pages in Russia. And archeologists and historians from all over the world carefully search every year. It was a very hard process because the book¡¯s different pages have been ripped or damaged. And they were scattered in different places across the world.

Finally, whatever pages that were found came together. Some were lost or destroyed. But, a big chunk of the original Bible was collected recently. Unfortunately, since the paper was very old, it was hard to recreate the book. Instead, historians and archeologists decided to use technology. They got together in England, and came up with a digital version. Every page was carefully treated and scanned. The images were put together, and the oldest Bible was born again!

The British Library and Museum will soon publish the digital Bible on a CD. So, I guess you won¡¯t have to go all the way to England to look at the world¡¯s first Bible! If you want to check it out right now, visit,
