 Dogs
are very loyal to their owners. They try to protect their owners from
danger. Sometimes, some dogs
even save their owners lives!
Recently, the story of a
loyal dog made the headlines in Italy. The dog travelled a long distance alone to return home!
The amazing dog’s name is Rocky.
He is a 5-year-old German shepherd. He lives
in Tuscany, Italy with his owner, Ibrahim Fwal. Mr. Fwal adopted Rocky when he was
just a puppy. Rocky has a very special
bond with his owner. They
do many things together. They even go for a scooter ride together!
In fact, the two are almost
inseparable.
They have been each other’s best friends for a long time. But a tragedy happened to Rocky
3 years ago. He was enjoying the sunshine at the beach during summer
vacation with his owner’s family in Salerno, southern Italy. While
Mr. Fwal and his children were swimming in the sea, Rocky was kidnapped
by a stranger.
Fortunately, Rocky managed
to escape from the kidnapper.
He was later taken in by a family from Salerno. But his new owners
said he never stopped trying to run away and eventually succeeded last November.
Rocky travelled 700 kilometers to finally go back home in 2
months! He finally met his owner again. “I knew he would come back
home,” said Mr. Fwal. “I had never given up hope Rocky would come
home one day. I recovered my long-lost friend at last!” What a happy ending! |
