Recently scientists and doctors in the U.S. found something very cool. Before I tell you what that is, let me ask you a question. Do you think learning English is hard? Sure, it¡¯s not easy learning a new language. But, do you find it hard to speak or write Korean? It¡¯s a lot easier because you¡¯ve learned it since you were a baby. And of course both your parents use Korean.
So, it came naturally to you. Well, here¡¯s what doctors and scientists found out in the U.S. They found that a baby¡¯s brain is ready to be bilingual! Believe it or not, a 7-month-old baby¡¯s brain is like a sponge. When the parents start speaking two languages to a baby, it will grow up to use two languages too!
But, here¡¯s the problem. Each parent must be able to speak the different languages perfectly! I know it¡¯s far away. But when you become adults, you guys will have kids too. Don¡¯t you want your kids to speak two languages? I guess you guys had better start learning English!
