Most animals around us are friendly and lovely. But some animals are fierce and dangerous. In fact, many people get hurt or killed by animals every year. This week, let¡¯s take a look at some of the most dangerous animals. If you happen to see them, never go near them!

* Elephants: Elephants are the largest land animals in the world. More than 500 people a year are killed by elephants worldwide. They can stomp people with their huge feet when they are angry. They can also injure people with their sharp tusks.

* Polar Bears: They might look cute and lovely at the zoo, but in the wild, they are very strong and fierce. The wild beasts can attack and hurt people with their powerful paws.

* Great White Sharks: When you enjoy swimming in the sea, watch out for these sharks. They can bite you with their 3,000 strong teeth!

* Australian Box Jellyfish: It is also known as the ¡°sea wasp.¡± This huge jellyfish can have up to 60 tentacles. Each tentacle has 5,000 stinging cells and enough toxins to kill 60 people!

* Mosquitoes: Mosquito bites make you very itchy. But it can make you get sick, too. Some mosquitoes carry diseases, including malaria. As a result, more than 2 million people worldwide die each year from deadly mosquito bites.

* Asian Cobras: About 50,000 people die a year all over the world by snakebites. Among the many venomous snakes, Asian Cobras are responsible for the largest number of deaths.
