Are you enjoying your summer vacation? I hope everyone is having a lot of fun this summer! But summer can be a dangerous season for children. When you enjoy the hot weather, you always have to be careful. You have to take good care of yourself all the time. This week, I'd like to introduce you some useful tips for safe and fun summer vacation. The most important thing to remember is to listen to your body all the time! And of course, always listen to your parents!

Keep Your Feet Dry!
Playing in the sun is always fun. But when walking around in the sun, your feet sweat a lot. When your feet are wet, you can develop blisters. It can hurt a lot! So how can you avoid developing blisters? Wearing socks can help keep your feet dry. So don't forget to wear socks that are 100 percent cotton. When your feet sweat too much, take a break in the shade. Find a cool place and sit down. Take off your shoes and socks and let your feet dry. Dry feet are happy feet!

Wear Light Cotton Clothes!
Wearing light cotton clothing can make you feel much cooler than other fabrics. Wearing tight clothes is not a good idea. Loose fitting clothes allow air to circulate, and keep you cooler. Also, wide-brimmed hats can protect you from the strong sun. Hats keep the sun out of your eyes, and make some cooling shade, too.

Protect Yourself from the Sun!
Before you go out, don't forget to put on sunscreen. Use sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher. If you don't use it, you can get painful sunburn! Ouch! Even on a cloudy day, you can get sunburn. So put on sunscreen every morning before you start out. Don't forget to put sunscreen on your lips, ears, back of neck, too!

Drink Water!
Your body is about 70 percent water. And it cannot work properly without enough water. So you should drink lots of water every day, especially in summer. This is because your body loses lots of water by sweating on hot summer days. So it's important to drink enough water every day. Don't wait until you feel thirsty. Eating fruits and vegetables that have lots of water inside is also a good idea. For example, watermelon can give you some water you need. But drinking water is the best idea for your thirsty body. So don't forget to drink about 8 glasses of water every day!
