The American First Lady, Michelle Obama donated her white dress to a museum last Tuesday. She wore the dress in January, 2009 at the inauguration ceremony of her husband, the 44th American President Barack Obama.

Wearing the one-shouldered white chiffon dress, Mrs. Obama danced with the President at many inaugural balls on that special night. She looked very beautiful in the dress. The First Lady is famous for her excellent fashion sense. People all over the world are fascinated by her elegance and beauty.

Last week, Mrs. Obama¡¯s dress joined the ¡°First Ladies Collection¡± at the Smithsonian¡¯s National Museum of American History in Washington DC. The beautiful dress went on display on March 10 at the museum.

Traditionally, all first ladies have donated their dresses to the collection since 1912. The museum asked each one to donate something that represented her, and donating the inaugural ball dress has become a tradition. Currently, the museum has 12 inaugural dresses on display, including Mrs. Obama¡¯s white dress, and 24 other dresses from former first ladies.

The collection is one of the most popular exhibits at the museum. Many people visit the museum to see the beautiful dresses worn by wives of past American presidents. The oldest dress is from Mamie Eisenhower, who served from 1953 to 1961. Other than the dresses, the collection also displays items from the White House and personal belongings from former presidents and first ladies.

Don¡¯t you want to visit the museum and check out the collection? It would be really fun to see the first ladies¡¯ dresses and their personal items!
