H1N1, the scary swine flu is making everyone in the world worried. It is spreading so quickly. And there is really no perfect way to stop it. In the U.S. it has made more than 1 million people sick. In China, tens of thousands are getting infected every month. The deadly virus has killed more than 2000 people all over the world.

I bet many of you are worried too. Well, here¡¯s some information you should know about the virus.

Doctors have said that the flu is not any more dangerous than the regular cold virus. The problem is because it¡¯s new. And we don¡¯t know the cure. Once we find the cure, it¡¯s an easy virus to stop.

H1N1 swine flu is more threatening to young children, pregnant women and elders. Since it¡¯s similar to the cold virus, people that have weaker immune systems are more at risk.

Just like the flu, it spreads through coughs and sneezes. You should wash your hands with soap for a long time. It¡¯s also a good idea to keep your mouth clean!

The government is preparing flu shots. Get your shot before things are too late. Check with your family doctor if it¡¯s okay to get the shot. It¡¯s a good idea to be ready. You just never know.

Just because you get the flu shot doesn¡¯t mean you are safe. Doctors say it takes at least 10 days before the body can fight the virus. So, don¡¯t get lazy with the hand washing and teeth brushing!

Health officials say the new swine flu vaccine is safe and effective. Well, it¡¯s too early to say. There is no 100% answer yet. Stay away from large gathering places like malls. If you feel sick, visit the doctor right away. You may have different flu viruses in your system. And they can make your immune system weaker. If this happens, it¡¯s more likely for you to catch H1N1!

Here are some of the symptoms. Heavy breathing, pain in the chest, and a fever that keeps on rising. If you feel sick, stay home after visiting the doctor.

Oftentimes people think you can catch swine flu from eating pork. This is wrong. The flu doesn¡¯t spread through meat. You should feel free to eat pork.
