Ah,
aren¡¯t you tired of your parents nagging at you? They always
have so much to say. ¡°Clean up your room!¡± ¡°Why aren¡¯t you studying?¡±
¡°Did you finish your homework?¡± The list can go on and on. How do you deal with your parents?
I bet sometimes you get angry
too. And you may scream and shout back at them. Well, that¡¯s no good.
It¡¯s only going to make things worse. Chances are, your parents will
nag at you even more. Here¡¯s how you can solve the problem.
Be Ready
Your parents know you best. And you are the one who knows all about
them. Think about it. Most of the nagging from your parents is repetitive. So, you should
know what your parents want and don¡¯t want.
Before mommy or daddy says anything, take care of that specific problem. Of course
you can¡¯t be lazy. If they often say things about a clean and tidy room, organize your
room before they check. The same thing applies to all kinds of naggings.
The best way is to prevent it so they can¡¯t
nag at you.
Talk to
Your Parents
When naggings get out of hand, it hurts your feelings. You
might think your parents are mean. But, it hurts them
too. When the nagging seems to be too much, tell your parents. Tell
them that you feel hurt. Let them know your feelings.
Try to communicate with them. Most
of the naggings do occur because kids don¡¯t
follow parents¡¯ rules. However, it¡¯s also
because parents and kids don¡¯t understand each other. When a real
conversation starts, you should listen to your parents as well. Try
to understand their side of the story. By all means, all the nagging
exists because they love
you. Keep that in mind.
Growing up isn¡¯t just hard for children. Parents have a hard time
as well. You see, they are new at it too. And they are learning how
to raise you as time passes.
So, give your parents a little break too. No kid is perfect. And no
parents are perfect. But working together, a perfect family can be
created.
Take the time to think about all the nagging you heard from your parents.
I bet most naggings are filled with worries from parents. It¡¯s a good
and lovely thing that someone is worried about you. Just remember
that they want the best for you. And that they are trying to create
a bright future for you. |
