Unfortunately, a sad thing is happening to them. They are in danger of becoming extinct! The blobfish is a deep sea fish that can be found off the coast of mainland Australia. It is rarely seen by humans because it lives at depths of up to 800 meters. The fish can grow up to 30 centimeters. The blobfish is not edible. But since it lives so close to the ocean bed, it often gets caught in the nets thrown to catch lobsters and crabs. Deep sea fishing is becoming very popular in Australia. And this is why many blobfish are being caught from the ocean grounds.
