It¡¯s incredibly difficult to catch a baseball that flies into the stands. At the recent Major Leagues game in Philadelphia, a young father named Steve Monforto made a beautiful catch. He is a huge fan of his hometown team, the Philadelphia Phillies. After many years of going to Phillies games, he caught his first ever foul ball.
The crowds in the Phillies stadium cheered for Steve¡¯s lucky catch. Being a great dad he is, he proudly handed the prize to his cute 3-year-old daughter. It was a big mistake. Steve¡¯s daughter, little Emily, threw the ball back over the railing. Steve was stunned by Emily¡¯s action. Steve simply smiled and hugged Emily.
This beautiful scene between father and daughter was captured on camera. It became the most watched video clip on the Internet. And it even made the T.V. news in the U.S. Luckily, Steve and Emily still went home with a baseball. The general manager of the Phillies saw what happened. He and the staff members gave the ball back to Steve and Emily after the game.
