 Dogs
are amazing animals. They are
known to be very smart and loyal. I’m sure you’ve probably heard about brave dogs that saved their
owners’ lives. Last week, another amazing dog named Buddy saved his owner
from a house fire.
Buddy is a German shepherd. He lives
in Alaska with his owner, Ben Heinrichs. Ben
adopted Buddy 5 years ago
when he was only 6 weeks old. According to Ben, Buddy is
very clever and brave. He always
tries to protect his owner from dangers.
Buddy has already saved him twice from bears by chasing the wild animals
away when Ben was fishing.
 This time,
Buddy saved Ben’s life from a house fire. Last week, Ben’s house caught
on fire. When Ben told Buddy, “We need to get help,” Buddy ran out
to get help right away. When he found
a police officer named Terrence Shanigan at a crossroad, he guided him
to the house.
“When I saw Buddy, I immediately knew that he
was asking for help. His gestures were urgent,” said the police
officer. “He was able to connect with me, giving me
a lot of non-verbal cues. So I decided to follow him, and
he managed to lead me to the blazing house. Buddy is really
amazing. He is an untrained dog, but he recognized the dangerous
situation and asked for help!” he added.
Even though the house was
destroyed, no one was hurt. Buddy was presented
with a silver dog bowl and chewing gums in recognition of his brave
act. You are a really amazing dog, Buddy! |
