According to British church leaders, Susan Boyle will sing for Pope Benedict XVI during his visit to Britain.
The Pope will make his visit between September 16 and 19. Boyle was a former church choir member, and now she is a world-famous singer. Britain hopes her heavenly voice will please the Pope.

Boyle achieved global stardom when she sang ¡°I Dreamed a Dream¡± from the musical Les Miserables on a TV show last year. People all over the world were wowed by her beautiful voice, which doesn¡¯t go with her lousy looks. Thanks to her amazing voice and singing skills, she gained international fame.

Now, Boyle is one of the most popular singers in the world. Her first album, I Dreamed a Dream, was released in November, 2009. Her debut album was a great success. It became a best-selling album upon its release and went straight to number one in the music charts. In fact, her album became the biggest selling album in the world in just 6 weeks!

Now, Boyle is ready to sing for the Pope. Last Monday, a spokesman for the Catholic Church in Scotland said the singer would be a great part of the events planned for the Pope¡¯s visit in September. ¡°We hope she could sing for the Pope during his visit. Her amazing voice will certainly make the precious visitor happy,¡± said the spokesman.

It will be Pope Benedict XVI¡¯s first visit to Britain. In fact, it will also be the first official Papal visit to Britain. Pope John Paul II visited the country for 6 days in 1982, but it wasn¡¯t an official one. These days, British Catholic Church is busy preparing programs and events for his visit.

On September 16, the Pope will be welcomed by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, the Queen¡¯s official residence in Scotland.

Let¡¯s hope Susan Boyle¡¯s heavenly voice will make the Pope¡¯s first visit to Britain very special and memorable!
