people in the world enjoy fishing. But not many people
actually catch huge fish. Recently, a British
man caught the biggest carp in the world! The lucky
man’s name is Martin Locke. During his vacation, he decided to go
on a fishing trip to the Rainbow Lake in France.
On January 11, he went fishing early in the morning even though it was very cold.
Soon, his fishing rod started moving.
He tried to roll up the fishing line, but it was
really heavy! He finally managed to catch the fish and broke the world
record for catching the biggest carp ever. When he saw the size of
the carp, he was very surprised.
It was the size of a calf! It weighed 42.6 kilograms!
It is 1.3 kilograms heavier than the previous record holder. “I thought
it was a sunken tree trunk because it was
so heavy,” he said. “I had a really hard time to reel it. I guess it weighed
as much as a small hippo!” He took a picture
of the world’s biggest carp and then returned it to the lake in good health. Let’s hope
the huge carp stays healthy and grows even bigger! |
