in China Even Love Panda Poo!
 Pandas
are very lovely. And they are loved by many people all around the
world. But especially Chinese people
love them very much. They even love their poo! Recently, researchers in China are
making souvenirs out of panda poo.
Researchers at a wildlife research center
in Sichuan province are making photo frames, bookmarks and papers out of giant panda dung each year. But don’t
worry about the smell. ＂They don’t smell too bad because 70 percent
of the dung is just remains of the bamboo that the pandas can’t
digest,＂said Jing Shimin,
who works at the center. ＂We used to spend a lot of money to get rid of the droppings, but now we are
making money by using them!＂he added. The researchers are now trying
to make Olympic souvenirs out of panda poo for 2008 Beijing Olympic
Games. If you have a chance to visit China, check the cool souvenirs

A Squirrel Loves Chocolate
 Do
you love chocolate? I do! It makes me feel better when I feel down.
I bet many of you also enjoy eating the sweet treat every now and then. But have
you ever heard of a squirrel that loves eating
chocolate? Well, it’s very hard to believe, but a squirrel in Finland just loves eating
chocolate! The squirrel loves it so much that it steals chocolate bars every
day at a grocery shop! The manager
of the store Irene Lindroos said the squirrel comes to the store at least twice a day to steal
chocolate candy called ＂Kinder Surprise.＂＂I named it the Kinder-squirrel
because it always chooses Kinder Surprise,＂said
Irene. The chocolate candy has a toy inside. The squirrel removes the foil carefully, eats the chocolate
and leaves the store with the toy. I guess chocolate makes even animals
happy, too!
Real Harry Potter Loves Kids!
 I’m sure most
of you are fans of the famous boy wizard Harry Potter. The
boy is loved by children all over the world. I think many kids want
to meet him in person. As a matter of fact, you
can! Real Harry Potter lives in Florida! But he is not a boy. He is
78 years old. Well, the old man happens to have the same name with
the famous boy wizard. So sometimes it’s tiring for him being Harry
Potter.
Each time a new Harry Potter book or movie comes out, the old Harry
Potter starts getting phone calls from children. ＂The kids want to
know if I’m Harry Potter,＂he said with a chuckle. ＂I tell them I’ve
been Harry Potter for nearly 80 years!＂
The real Harry Potter said he hasn’t had time to read any of the J.K.
Rowling books or see the five hit movies. But whenever he gets phone calls
from children, he answers kindly to all of their questions.
Sometimes kids ask him about the owl. Then he says, ＂Oh, he
came by and brought the mail.＂
But when children see him in person, they become confused. ＂They can’t relate
the one in the book to the one they see here. I guess I could buy
me a pair of Harry Potter glasses,＂said the real Harry Potter with
a big smile. |
