Have you ever thought about the life of a prince or princess? They usually lead luxurious lives; They eat nice food, wear nice clothes, and have nice cars with chauffeurs. It seems like they don¡¯t know the importance of money. But American President Barack Obama thinks it is important to teach his two little princesses about the importance of money. So he decided to teach his daughters how to save money and spend it wisely.

Malia and Sasha live in White House and they are leading comfortable lives. However, that does not mean that they don¡¯t need to learn the importance of money. President Obama said in a recent TV interview that he would make his daughters work to earn their own allowances just like ordinary American children.

¡°I think 12-year-old Malia and 9-year-old Sasha are old enough to learn how to manage their money,¡± President Obama said. ¡°They already have their own savings accounts. I¡¯m teaching them about savings, interest, and how to spend their allowances wisely. They will also earn some money by doing babysitting soon.¡±

America is still suffering from the dull economy and many Americans are living in poverty. These days, many American parents are teaching their children how to save money. A growing number of American kids are encouraged to save money for college from early ages and the President¡¯s daughters are no exceptions to this rule.

President Obama said that parents should prepare for their retirement and teach their children how to use their money wisely and save for the future. Let¡¯s hope Malia and Sasha will learn how to manage their money well through their babysitting jobs and lessons from their father!
