children love eating chocolate and candy. There are so many different
kinds of candy you can choose
from. But have you ever tried insect candy? No, I’m not talking about
jelly worms or insect-shaped candy. I’m
talking about real insects!
There’s a very special candy store called HOTLIX in California.
You can find many kinds of insect candy there! The store sells chocolate-dipped scorpions, cricket lollipops, maggot candy, and many other
strange and bizarre kinds of candy! Each
candy costs about 300 won.
The store started selling insect candy in 1982. “Our first insect
candy was a lollipop with a worm. At the time, it was really popular,”
said Katy Mitchell, manager of HOTLIX. “We weren’t sure how long the
popularity would continue. Surprisingly, 25
years later, we are still going strong and our insect candy is now
famous all over the world!”
So, would you like to have some insect candy? According to Mitchell, insect
candy is a good source of protein! |
