Fun English Camp at Haengdang Elementary School

July 20 to 30, the students at Haengdang Elementary School in Seongdong-gu,
Seoul, participated in a special English camp.
They could learn English in fun ways at the 10-day-long school camp
while enjoying fun activities. The Kids Times paid a visit to the
school on July 23 to take a peep into their special
camp!
The camp was held to help the students improve their English skills
through a variety ofindoor and outdoor activities.
It was also a great chance to experienceforeign cultures without
having to visit English-speaking countries. Over 120 students took
part in the fun camp.
¡°It
is very important for children to learn English in order to become global leaders in the global era. I hope this camp
will be a wonderful chance for my students
to polish their English,¡± said
Principal Cho Sang-ryul.
The camp was made up of many exciting programs where the children
could learn English from foreign teachers.
The highlight of the camp was
the ¡®Special Experience Day.¡¯ The theme was ¡®water¡¯ and the
children participated in fun outdoor activities such as ¡®Water Gun Battle,¡¯ ¡®Water
Soccer,¡¯ and ¡®Making Red-bean Sherbet.¡¯
All of the
programs were conducted in English. While playing fun games and making
delicious red-bean sherbet,
the students learned many useful words from their teachers.
They even had a chance to learn Taekwondo in English!
It was a very special camp for the children at Haengdang Elementary
School. They are already waiting for the next year¡¯s summer English
camp! Let¡¯s hope the school keeps providing the students with many
fun English programs!
