are first ladies. Second, they are respected by many people. Third,
they are all famous for their great fashion sense! As a matter of fact, the
three first ladies were recently chosen as best dressers by a fashion
magazine!
Earlier this month, the world-famous
fashion magazine Vanity Fair chose America’s Michelle Obama, France’s
Carla Bruni and Britain’s Samantha Cameron as the best dressers of
the year. The magazine called the three first ladies new fashion leaders.
In fact, Michelle Obama has appeared on the best dressers’
list four times and Carla Bruni made
it for the third year in a row. Samantha Cameron
became the first pregnant wife of a top leader
to be on the list.
 According to the magazine,
Michelle Obama is playing a very important role in today’s fashion.
She is a new fashion trendsetter. She loves wearing
sleeveless dresses, showing
off her toned arms. The first African-American
First Lady even appeared
on the cover of the March 2009 issue of Vogue.
Carla Bruni, who is often called the “First Lady of Fashion,” enjoys
wearing more colorful, showy clothing. Samantha Cameron
has a practical style and loves
wearing fancy necklaces and brooches. “The three first
ladies don’t look like everyone else.
They tend to be fashion leaders,
not followers,” said Amy Fine
Collins, who compiled the list.
The first ladies are affecting the people of the
world in many ways. They are good role models for young people.
Now they are even affecting people’s fashion code! Let’s hope to see more
fashionable first ladies
