Everyone wants to live a happy life. But you have to make an effort to be happy. If you keep practicing, you can live a ¡°happier¡± life! According to Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky of the University of California, Riverside, there are 5 things to do to improve your happiness.

1. Be grateful: Think about the things to be thankful about. Or you can write ¡°thank you letters¡± to people who have helped you in some way. You don¡¯t have to actually send the letters. Feeling grateful is enough. Being thankful about the people around you and about your life definitely makes you happier.

2. Be positive: Another practice that can make your life happier is positive thinking. Dr. Lyubomirsky found in her study that thinking about happy things actually increases feelings of well-being. So, try to be optimistic all the time!

3. Count your blessings: In another study, Dr. Lyubomirsky found that people who practice writing down good things that have happened to them every week showed significant boosts in happiness.

4. Use your strengths: Another study asked people to think about their greatest strengths and then try to use them in new ways. Many people reported that the new habit helped them feel happier in their daily lives. Try to feel more confidence to be happier.

5. Help others: Did you know that helping others can make you happy? People who help others in need by donating money or doing volunteer work report improvements in their own happiness.
