Kitty to Punish Thai Police
I’m sure many kids love Hello Kitty. In fact, many adults love the cute cat,
too. I also have a Hello Kitty cup at home! But police officers in Thailand
don’t really like the lovely cat. Why? It’s hard to believe, but the
cat punishes them when they do something wrong! If police officers
don’t speak nicely to citizens or forget to turn off their engines when
they park their cars, they will
have to wear bright pink Hello Kitty armbands as punishment! Previously, the officers
were punished by a written reprimand, but it wasn’t
very effective. So police Colonel
Pongpat Chayaphan decided to use Hello Kitty. ＂I chose this symbol because it is pink
and easy to see,＂he said. Now I see why they don’t really love the
lovely cat!

Spiderman Arrested Again
Look at the picture! Can you believe your eyes? A man is climbing a tall bridge! Say hello to Alain
Robert, the French Spiderman. Robert is a famous climber, and he has climbed
up skyscrapers all around the
world. But he was arrested last Monday. This was because he used no
ropes when he climbed the
bridge in Lisbon, Portugal. But it wasn’t the first time for him to
get arrested. ＂I have been
arrested more than 100 times for climbing buildings,＂Robert said.
The 44-year-old Spiderman first climbed a building at the age of 12 when he
got locked out of his apartment and decided to mount the eight stories up
to an open window. He has since climbed more than 70
buildings around the world, including Chicago’s Sears Tower in 1999.
＂Getting arrested isn’t fun, but it shows people the values of freedom and courage,＂he said.

Is Our 17th Baby!
How many brothers or sisters do you have? Probably one or two, right?
Or you may be the only child. Then, can you
imagine having more than
10 brothers and sisters at home? It’s very hard to imagine, right?
But surprisingly, a family living
in Arkansas in the U.S. welcomed their 17th child
into the world! They named the baby girl Jennifer Danielle, who was
born last Thursday.
Now, Jim and Michelle Duggar have 7 daughters and 10 sons! Wow! What a big family!
But Mr. and Mrs. Duggar say they want to have more children! ＂We are
just so grateful to God for another gift from him. And we’d love to
have more,＂Michelle said less than 30 minutes after giving birth.
The oldest is 19 and the youngest, before Jennifer, is almost 2 years
old. This means 40-year-old Mrs. Duggar has been pregnant for 10.5
years of her life! And the Duggars have gone through more than 90,000
diapers so far! They sure are an
amazing family! |
