Read,
Read, and Read Some More!
You can never read enough books. And it is one
of those things that your parents will not have trouble spending some money on! Rather than asking for the
latest video or computer
game, why not ask for a good book? Unlike television, video
and computer games, you can read books anytime and anywhere! Another great resource is the library. Take a trip to a nearby library
with your friends or parents! You can borrow many books there,
but just be sure to return them in time.
Find an Author That You Like!
There are millions of great authors out there who would love to have
a devoted, young fan like you.
Authors vary in their writing styles.
And they will also have different stories to tell.
However, you may be able to find one that you like in particular. Once you have found an author
that you like, gobble up all the different
books that the author has written.
Spend
Time Reading!
You should read as many good books as you can. It¡¯s not about how
many books that you have, but how much time is spent reading. So get
comfortable, take your time,
and read your books carefully! If you know the
book well enough, then you could even share the story with your
parents and friends.
Make a Reading Spot
Find a quiet and peaceful area that you can
make your £¢reading spot.£¢Whenever you see this
area, it will encourage you to read your
books. It would be good if your spot was near a bookcase or shelf where you can easily
grab a new book or finish an old one. Making
your spot extra comfortable is a plus, too!
Reading Is Fun!
Computer
games, video games, and television may be a fun source of entertainment. But they cannot
offer the same knowledge that reading can.
Don¡¯t think of reading as a boring thing no matter what anyone says!
Books can make you smile, laugh, cry, and feel all kinds of different
emotions. Do not underestimate the power of
a good book. So pick one up today and start your adventure. When is the last time you flew on Aladdin¡¯s
magic carpet or sailed the seas with pirates? |
