Drag racing is a very popular sport all across the globe. It is a competition in which vehicles compete to be the first to cross a set finish line. Driving a fast car is very thrilling and fun, but it can be very dangerous. For that reason, most drag racers are adult males. To our surprise, however, a young American girl is enjoying the sport, too. Who is this amazing girl?

The girl in the pictures is Amber Bell from Pennsylvania, U.S. She may look like a normal girl, but she is not. She is the youngest drag racer in the world! She is only 8 years old, but she is very good at driving race cars. In fact, she can drive her car faster than a Ducati, the Italian motorcycle famous for its speed!

Amber started learning the dangerous high speed sport this year. However, the amazing girl has already beat people who are older than her. ¡°I have beaten two 17-year-olds this year: one boy and one girl,¡± said Amber proudly. ¡°They were upset and disappointed after the race because I won, but we still shook hands afterwards.¡±

Amber is a girly girl who loves painting her nails and enjoys shopping with her mother. However, she usually enjoys drag racing with her sisters on the weekends. Enjoying the fast sport runs in her family. Amber¡¯s father was a drag racer and her two older sisters, Alison and Heather, are also drag racers. Amber grew up watching her father and sisters go racing every spring and summer. Since 8 years old is the minimum legal age in Pennsylvania for young racers to start drag racing, Amber was very excited when she turned 8 this year.

Some people believe that drag racing is too dangerous for the little girl. However, Amber has a different opinion. ¡°I know it may be hard to believe, but I feel that drag racing is no more dangerous than riding a bike. As long as I wear safety gear such as a helmet, fire-proof overalls, and a neck brace, this is a safe sport,¡± she explained. ¡°It is the speed I like. I always want to go faster. Even though this has been my first year, I have learned so much because of my sisters¡¯ help.¡±

According to her parents, Amber is already planning next year¡¯s race schedule. Good luck, Amber! We hope you will grow up to be a fine racing driver!
