 Recycling
is very important for saving the Earth. It helps our planet become
greener and healthier. We can recycle so many things, from paper to
plastic bottles. But do you think animals can be a part of this green
movement also? To our surprise, an amazing dog knows the importance
of recycling and he has helped his owner gather and recycle nearly
30,000 plastic bottles over the last six years!
Look at the pictures. It’s the recycling dog, Tubby! The 6-year-old
Labrador retriever lives with his owner Sandra Gilmore in Wales, one
of the best recycling regions in the U.K. Tubby loves recycling so
much that he picks up at least three plastic bottles every day while
enjoying a walk with Mrs. Gilmore.
“Tubby has had a special nose for plastic bottles ever since he was
a little puppy. He is very passionate about collecting plastic bottles,”
said Mrs. Gilmore. “Whenever he finds bottles, he crushes them with
his teeth and brings them to me. He even leaps into the water to fetch
bottles!” she explained.
Mrs. Gilmore is very ardent about recycling and she admits Tubby has
helped her quite a bit. “So far, he has managed to collect around
26,000 plastic bottles. During the past six years, he has been on
the job every day,” she said.
In recognition of his efforts to keep the planet green, the Guinness
Book of World Records recently listed Tubby as the dog that recycled
the most bottles. Congratulations, Tubby! Keep recycling and make
the Earth greener! |
