July 14, Paul the famous psychic octopus became an honorary citizen of Spain.
A town in the northwest of Spain called Carballino decided to give
him Spanish citizenship to thank him.
Paul predicted Spain’s victory in the 2010 World
Cup on July 12. The mayor of the town, Carlos
Montes, visited the Sea Life Aquarium in Germany to present Paul with
his citizenship. Paul was born in England, lives in Germany, and is
now a citizen of Spain!
The octopus is gaining huge popularity not only in Spain but also
in many other countries in the world, including China and Japan. Some
fans even made a love song for him! Paul is famous for his amazing
psychic abilities.
He successfully predicted eight games out of eight correctly during the World
Cup. What an amazing octopus! |
