I’m a Regular Customer, Too!    [18-02-2011] After a long day, many adults often go to a bar or pub for a beer. They relax while enjoying drinking with their friends. I’m sure your dad sometimes drinks beer with his friends, too. But have you ever seen a horse that enjoys drinking? To our surprise, there is a horse that goes to a pub for a refreshing beer in England! The unusual horse’s name is Basil and he is nine years old. He is very famous in Staffordshire, England. He visits a local pub every Sunday with his owner Wendy and Harvey Milnes. He enjoys mingling with the locals as he relaxes and sups on his favorite drink in the pub. Basil’s favorite drink is locally brewed ale. According to the pub manager Guy Wallis, Basil has been coming in the pub for years. It doesn’t seem strange having him in the pub anymore. “Basil is like one of the regulars. He just pokes his head round the door and comes in and has a drink, just like everyone else,” Mr. Wallis explained. “He even has his own glass!” Basil loves drinking with the locals after he’s been for a ride. Everyone loves having him around, too. Sometimes people give him some vegetables to go with his pint. Have a good time at the pub while enjoying your favorite ale, Basil!
