Most people think bugs and insects such as scorpions, maggots, grasshoppers, and crickets are creepy. Girls especially never go near them. To our surprise, however, an American young lady thinks they are appetizing! As a matter of fact, she enjoys cooking insects and bugs! She even recommends people to try eating them by teaching them how to cook them.

The bizarre chef¡¯s name is Daniella Martin and she became famous for her unique recipes. She teaches people how to enjoy bugs and offers cooking tips through her website called ¡°Girl Meets Bug.¡± According to her, there are more than 1,000 kinds of edible bugs in the world. ¡°I use cricket flour when I¡¯m baking and wax worms are especially good in stir fries,¡± she said.

¡°You will never forget the first bug you eat because it is so tasty,¡± Daniella said. She started eating bugs 10 years ago when she was studying pre-Columbian food in the Yucatan region of Mexico. ¡°A long time ago, before Christopher Columbus¡¯ arrival, the locals relied on insects for their protein. They used to eat dry-roasted grasshoppers with lime and chili,¡± she explained.

According to her, bugs are a good source of animal protein and can be easily implemented in areas where it¡¯s hard to grow crops. ¡°In the future, as the population increases, we will have to rely on insects for our diet,¡± she said.

Most people - especially women - want to stay away from bugs, but Daniella says they should start eating bugs for many reasons. First of all, they are easy to cook. They are also cleaner than most meat. They are high in protein and good for your health, too. Most importantly, they taste great!

So, what do you think about eating bugs? If you have a chance, would you try eating them? Well, according to Daniella, they are delicious!
