Look
at the cool artwork in the picture. It was created by a British artist named Laura Hadland
on October 17. The image in the mosaic is her mother-in-law, Sandra Whitfield.
Laura made it for her 50th birthday as a surprise gift.
Can you guess what it is made of? It¡¯s hard to believe, but the hugemosaic was made out of toast!
It took the artist six hours and 9,852 slices of bread to create
the image. She got help from 40 friends who used nine toasters to brown the slices of bread.
After many hours of hard work, Laura managed to turn the slices into
a huge mosaic.
In fact, it is recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest
toast mosaic in the world! The 9.95-meter by 12.87-meter image is
much bigger than the previous record holder, which
was created in the Netherlands in February of this year.
¡°I love toast, but it feels very strange seeing my face made out it.
It¡¯s been the best birthday present ever!¡± said Mrs. Whitfield. You
must be very happy to receive such a special gift! Happy birthday!
