Can
you play the piano? Many children
- especially girls - learn
how to play the piano as a hobby. In order to play the instrument, you need to take
lessons and learn how to read notes. However, an amazing teenage musical prodigy plays the piano perfectly even though he cannot read
a musical prodigy single note! What¡¯s more surprising is that he has
never had a piano lesson before, but he can play difficult pieces by composers such as Chopin
and Beethoven without a problem!
The natural-born musician¡¯s name is Samuel
Osmond. He is 19 years old and lives in Cornwall, Britain. He is
studying law at Cornwall College and
his dream is to become a barrister. However, his teachers
have recommended him to pursue his career in the
field of music instead. This is because
he has an amazing talent in music. He learns
a piece of music by listening to it and then memorizes the notes perfectly!
He started playing the piano two years ago. The first piece he played
was ¡°Moonlight Sonata¡± by Beethoven. He has surprised
his school teachers by playing the most complex piano pieces in a few hours despite being unable to read
music. He can pick up difficult pieces
in minutes because of his perfect memory.
¡°I
grew up with music. My mom and I played the guitar for 6 years. About
two years ago, I suddenly decided to start
playing the piano, without being able to read music and without having
any lessons,¡± said Samuel. ¡°It comes easily to me. I hear the
notes and can memorize them ? each individual note. It¡¯s easy
for me to memorize music notes. I was looking at training to be a barrister,
but my professors have advised me to apply to a music college
instead.¡±
Currently, he is learning
a piece by Chopin, ¡°Ballard No 1 in G Minor¹ß¶óµå Á¦1¹ø G´ÜÁ¶,¡± which is
filled with rapid scales, large chords and difficult fingerings. The piece is
so difficult that even many professional pianists cannot play it.
¡°Samuel
is extraordinary. I have never
ever known anybody with an ability like this in my over a 40
year career. It¡¯s extremely rare,¡± said Mr. Du Valle,
who teaches at Cornwall College. ¡°He memorized a 9-minute long-Chopin
piece perfectly without being able to read music or without any piano
lessons. It¡¯s amazing, but he didn¡¯t even realize what he was doing
was special. He was training for a career in law,¡± he added.
Wow, you have an incredible ability to memorize,
Samuel! Keep memorizing beautiful music pieces and make people happy! |
