Korea¡¯s low birthrate is a serious problem, yet it is also an issue in many other countries around the world. The number of newborn babies is decreasing in Spain, too. Recently, however, a small village called Maskeriz in northern Spain celebrated a very special birth.

A baby girl named Enara was born last month. Her name means ¡®swallow¡¯ in the Basque language. So, why is her birth so special? She is the first baby to be born in the village in 22 years! The villagers are very happy about the birth. ¡°Enara is the first baby to be born in this town since 1988.
Her arrival was a great joy for the entire village,¡± said her mother Amaia. ¡°Our neighbors keep coming over to see her and when we take her out in her baby carriage, people keep stopping us to take her in their arms.¡±

Enara¡¯s parents hope that more babies will be born in the town because she will need friends to play with when she grows up. Let¡¯s hope the little girl will have many friends soon!
