Winter is a fun season and there are so many fun things you can enjoy outside. Playing in the snow, skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating are all a lot of fun. Enjoying winter activities is also good for your health. However, it is very important to keep your body warm while enjoying winter sports. Children can catch colds easily in the winter. You don¡¯t want to get sick and stay in bed all day long, do you? Then, keep reading and learn how to stay warm!

Staying warm is the most important thing when playing outside on a cold day. You don¡¯t want to catch a cold, do you? Then, make sure to wear warm clothes. You should dress warmly in layers of clothes. Cotton clothing won¡¯t keep you very warm, so choose a wool sweater or turtleneck.

When playing in the snow, wear a waterproof jacket and pants to keep your other clothing dry. Protecting your face with sunscreen is also important. You can get sun burnt even in the winter. When you are skiing, sledding, skating, or snowboarding, sunlight reflects off all that bright white snow and then back onto your face. So, cover up with sunscreen!

Having a snack before going out can also keep you warm. The calories will give your body energy in the cold weather. Then, wear thick socks, gloves, a hat, and a muffler. Earmuffs can also protect your ears from the cold wind. Now, you are ready to have fun outside!

While having fun in the cold, your socks or gloves can get wet. If this happen, stop playing and go inside to take a break. If you don¡¯t, you may get frostbite. Warm yourself while drinking a cup of hot chocolate.

If you want to play outside again, ask your mom or dad to give you dry socks and gloves. Always remember to stay warm!
