In the autobiography, President Lee looks back on his life. The story starts with his childhood when he was a child from a poor family. He was born on December 19, 1941 in Osaka, Japan. Despite the many hardships he had to go through, he never gave up hope and studied very hard.

After graduating from Korea University, he started working for Hyundai, which was a small company at the time. There were only about 90 workers at the organization. Mr. Lee started as a low-level job worker. However, in recognition of his hard work, he became a company director just 5 years after he joined the company. He was only 29 years old. Then, he became the youngest CEO in Korea at the age of 35. In 1988, he became the chairman of Hyundai Engineering and Construction at the age of 47.

The little poor boy became a highly successful businessman. However, he didn¡¯t stop there. In 2002, Mr. Lee ran for mayor of Seoul and won. His biggest feat as mayor was the restoration of the Cheonggyecheon. It became one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city.

In 2007, he ran for president and won the election. He became the 17th President of South Korea in 2008. During his presidency, Korea¡¯s national power increased as the nation hosted the G20 Summit successfully in 2010 and won the bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Mr. Lee is planning to publish the second volume of his autobiography after his term is over in 2013. The book will mainly deal with Lee¡¯s presidency.
