Fingers play very important roles for us every day. Thanks to our fingers, we can grab things, use computers, brush teeth, write emails, hold books, and so many other things. In fact, if we didn't have fingers, our lives would be very difficult. However, some people lose their fingers due to accidents or diseases. For these people, it is not easy to do even basic things such as brushing their teeth or turning a doorknob. In order to help these people, scientists invented bionic fingers. Recently, a 15-year-old British girl became the youngest person in Europe to receive bionic fingers.

Chloe Holmes from Swindon in South West England lost her fingers when she was only three years old. She lost all her fingers on her left hand to septicaemiaÆÐÇ÷Áõand was left with one thumb and half a finger on her right hand. Since then, shas never been able to pick things up for herself. However, now Chloe can pick things up and do many other things without the help from others!

Last week, she received bionic fingers. Chloe is the youngest and first person outside of America to have bionic fingers! The fingers are controlled by electronic signals from the nerve endings in her hand. Chloe is now learning basic tasks such as brushing her teeth and using a knife and fork for the first time.

¡°I can¡¯t wait to go to school to show my new fingers to my friends! I¡¯m so excited to have these amazing fingers for the first time in my life!¡± said Chloe with excitement. ¡°The best thing about my new hand is that now I can hold things. It is quite difficult, but I am getting used to it.¡±

So far, her school life has been very difficult because she couldn¡¯t do many things by herself. She couldn¡¯t play sports with her friends, either. However, now her life has changed forever and she can enjoy many things with her friends thanks to her new hands. ¡°I¡¯m looking forward to going back to school so everyone can see it,¡± she said with a smile.

The bionic fingers are made by Touch Bionics in Scotland and they cost ¡Ì38,000. ¡°The fingers are very expensive, but we decided to buy them for our daughter,¡± said Chloe¡¯s father Pete. ¡°Now we are very happy because it has completely changed her life. She can now do the simplest things, like brushing her teeth and cutting up her own food. We are just absolutely delighted with it, it has made a huge difference to her life,¡± added her mother Sue.

Let¡¯s hope Chloe¡¯s new fingers help her enjoy her life more! Also, let¡¯s thank our fingers for their hard work!
