 “We
are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs
passed away today. Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has
lost an amazing human being. Those of us
who have been fortunate enough to know
and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind
a company that only he could
have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple,” Apple
announced in a statement.
Countless Apple lovers all
over the world were shocked at the news. “It really breaks my heart.
I’ve had a relationship with Apple for 30 years,” said one customer. “He was amazing
and he changed the world forever. I hope he rests in peace,” she added
with teary eyes.
The Silicon Valley icon resigned as CEO of the
world’s largest technology corporation in August due
to his poor health condition. Tim Cook, Apple's
chief operating officer,
took over the position on Aug 24. Cook
expressed his deep sadness.
“I don’t even know how to express my sadness. I was extremely lucky to have a
chance to work with the genius. Steve’s brilliance, passion, and energy were
the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives.
So many people were touched by his extraordinary gifts,” said
Cook, paying his last tribute to the legendary businessman.
The master innovator dropped out of
college at the age of 21
and started Apple with his childhood friend, Steve Wozniak,
in his parents’ garage. Jobs co-founded Apple Computer
in 1976 with Wozniak. Then, he went on to create Apple II, which is
considered the world’s first personal computer. By the
age of 25, Jobs was a multi-millionaire. He even
appeared on the cover of Time magazine when
he was 26 years old. In the years that followed, he went into other
successful businesses.
Steve Jobs is praised as one of the greatest CEOs in the world. During
his short lifetime, he changed the
world with his innovative ideas. He also made Apple the most valuable company in America.
He is the mastermind behind the highly
successful iPod and the iPhone series.
The creative genius will be remembered in history
forever. Rest in peace, Mr. Jobs.
