 The
man in the picture is Tomasz Urynowicz and he is an art lover from
Poland. He has many beautiful paintings, but his favorite one is a portrait of a young brown-haired girl. The picture
was painted by an artist named Antoni Maria Kwiek in 1955. When Tomasz
first saw the artwork in an art gallery in 2001, he fell
in love with the girl in the painting.
It was definitely love at first sight! He was
fascinated by the beauty of the girl and bought
the painting on the spot. Then, he started
searching for the girl, but nobody knew who she was. “She is my dream
girl. I just wanted to meet her, sit down and have coffee and a chat
to see who she is and what her life has been like,” he said. “I actually spent the last decade searching for the
girl and the artist who drew the painting, but I
failed to find them both.”
So the 37-year-old art lover gave up looking for the girl.
Instead, he is now looking
for a priest who will agree to marry him with the painted
version of the girl of his dreams! Yes, to our surprise, he actually
wants to marry his painting! “I don’t know if it is legally allowed to marry
a painting in Poland or not. But if I can’t do it here, I’ll go somewhere
else and do it,” he said seriously. If he actually
goes through with this unusual wedding, he will be the first
man in the world to marry a painting! |
