Today, many people all over the world keep pet cats at home. Cats make good pets because they don’t make loud noises like dogs. But how about keeping big cats such as lions and tigers at home? It seems impossible to keep them as pets, doesn’t it?
To our surprise, however, a German animal lover keeps lions, tigers, and panthers at home! Her name is Regina Hoffmann, but she is better known as the ‘Lion Queen.’ So far, the 53-year-old animal lover brought up 50 big cats in her home! “I love animals, including wild ones,” she said. If baby animals are rejected by their mothers at a safari park in Hodenhagen, Germany, she always volunteered to look after the beasts.

“I take them home and hand-raise them until they are strong enough to return to their homes in the safari park,” she explained. According to her, big cats are no different to domesticated pet cats, despite the fact that they are wild animals. “Big cats such as lions and tigers have a reputation as natural-born killers.
However, just like normal cats, they are playful. They even meow when they want something from me,” she said. “The only difference is that keeping them is very expensive than normal cats because they eat up to six kilograms of raw meat each every day!” I guess keeping a lion or a tiger as a pet takes a lot of courage as well as a lot of money!
