In the city of Taiyuan, located in Shanxi Province, there lives a 55-year-old woman with hair that measures about 2.53 meters long. Her name is Ni Linmei and she is the mother of two children. She hopes to become the woman with the longest hair in the 2011 Guinness Book of World Records. Linmei admitted that she has not cut her hair for 14 years. in her town, she is famous for her extensive braids. She combs her extremely long hair once a day. Her two daughters help her. To measure her hair, she has to stand on a chair. Although having split ends is an unavoidable problem, her hair is in great condition. She claims that her hair grows 16.7 centimeters a year. She will attempt to beat the world record for the longest hair in a few years. The current record for the longest hair is held by Xie Quiping, who is also from China.
