¡°South Korea¡¯s fashion pioneer.¡± ¡°Magician from Fantasy Land.¡± ¡°A Long Time Shepherd of Korean Fashion.¡± These are some of the accolades the late fashion designer Andre Kim received for his work. Known for his trademark all white jumpsuits and peculiar hair style which was covered by a hairnet, Kim was a renowned influence in fashion culture. Recently, a film studio announced that they have already begun the pre-production of a film based on his life.

Born in 1935, Kim has been the most influential fashion designer in Korea. He was also recognized in other countries as a great fashion designer. He is best known for his beautiful evening and wedding gown collections. The fashion icon passed away in 2010.

Late last year, a production company called Fantagio Pictures signed a contract with Kim Jung-do, Kim¡¯s adoptive son, for the rights to the movie. Kim¡¯s son gave his permission for the film only if his flamboyant father¡¯s early life is depicted in accurate detail. Much of Kim¡¯s personal life was kept behind closed doors. His goal is for audiences to understand his father better.

Actor Ha Jung-woo will play the young Kim. The rest of the cast has not been chosen yet. CJ E&M is working with Fantagio Pictures to co-produce the film, which is expected to be released in theaters late next year. The group of screenwriters, producers, and directors said the movie will focus on Kim¡¯s younger years. The film will also portray various events in the Korean fashion and entertainment industries from the 1960s. Fashion lovers are already excited about the movie.
