are many different kinds of fish in the sea. Some are very small and
some are very big. What is the largest fish in the sea? Let me give
you some hints. It looks like a whale or a shark. You can find it in
all tropical seas because it
likes warm waters. Its back and sides are reddish brown or gray in color. It also has
white spots and stripes. Can you guess what
it is?
The biggest fish in the sea is the whale shark. It may look
like a whale or a shark, but it is actually a fish. It can grow up to more than 15 meters
in length and weigh 20 tons! Despite its huge size, its favorite meal is plankton. It is also very
gentle by nature.
 Many people
from all over the world travel to Ningaloo Reef at Coral Bay, Australlia,
to swim with the whale sharks. Sometimes, they even allow swimmers
to hitch a ride. The best season
to swim with the amazing fish is between March and June.
Whale sharks are considered to be good luck, Japanese fishermen are careful not
to catch a whale shark. They
think the fish is a good luck symbol. In Vietnam, fishermen considered
the whale shark as a god. They pray to whale sharks for
protection and good catches. |
