July 21, Kids Reporters visited the National Museum of Korea for a
very special experience. They had a chance to go back to the past and experience the lives
of our ancestors. Here is what they
have to say about their special day at the museum.

At the National Museum of Korea there is a musical called 'The Museum
Is Alive박물관은 살아있다' which represents a new paradigm. From the start, it was very
unique and special. There
was no stage. On-dal, his mother,
and the leader of an expedition appeared from a place we
never imagined! They said we would
visit Goguryeo to explore, so we passed through
a dark cave and met Princess Pyeong-gang
and then went to the Go-bun (the tomb of the king at that
time). Inside the Go-bun, there
were pictures on the walls. We called them Go-Bun wall pictures. The
leader of our expedition explained the importance
of the pictures. Have you ever seen the picture, Soo-ryub-do? In the
picture we could see the bravery of the people of
Goguryeo and in the picture of the lotus there were human faces
on each petal. By this picture, we
could guess that the lotus is Goguryeo
to the people of Goguryeo. Also, there were women who were performing a dance of Goguryeo
in the picture on the wall. Princess Pyeong-gang taught us the special dance moves. Then, Ju-mong
appeared. He was the best archer of Goguryeo and taught
us how to do it. Then, we had a chance to shoot an arrow. It was not easy for
me to do it. Then, the actors told us the story of 'Princess Pyeong-gang
and On-dal' and our exploration into the past ended. I realize now, why people said
it's really fun to learn about the history of Goguryeo. This
weekend, how about going to the National Museum of Korea and learning
the interesting history of Goguryeo?

Can you imagine going back to the past? You may think it to be impossible. However, it is
possible if you visit the National Museum of Korea. There, you can
enjoy a special musical called 'The Museum Is Alive’. You can learn
about the lives of our ancestors in the Goguryeo era. You can even learn a
traditional dance from Princess
Pyeong-gang! The interesting dance moves are the expressions of nature! There,
we met Goguryeo’s brave general named On-dal. He
is Princess Pyeong-gang’s husband. We heard an interesting
story about the princess and the general. Our day at the museum was
an amazing experience. The musical
was educational and fun!

I saw an interesting musical with the other Kids Reporters and learned
many things about Goguryeo. At first, we entered a room, where we
could see many stars. There, I heard a story about stars. According
to the story, if I wish upon stars, my dreams
come true! I will try that tonight! My wish is my family’s
happiness. In the next room,
we learned about the lives of Goguryeo. It was a lot of fun! Then,
we saw an ancient tomb and interesting
wall paintings. After that,
we learned how to shoot an arrow from Ju-mong. It wasn’t easy! I had
a great time at the museum and it was an amazing adventure to explore Goguryeo.
From now on, I will study
harder to learn our history! |
