The
U.S. is a huge country. There are 50 states in the country. Since
the U.S. is a very big country, climate varies between states.
Some states have distinct four seasons, while
some states in the west coast are mild all year round. For example,
it almost never snows in southern California. In fact,
the state of California is famous for its year-round mild weather.
However, it is not the hottest state in the U.S.
According to the National Weather Service(NWS)±¹¸³±â»ó±¹, Texas is the
hottest state in the country. Texas is the second largest U.S. state
by both area and population. It is located
in the South Central U.S. and bordered by Mexico to the
south, New Mexico to the west, Oklahoma to the north, Arkansas to
the northeast, and Louisiana
to the east.
Recently, the
NWS reported that Texas was the hottest state this summer between
June and August. Texas had its hottest June on record, the fifth warmest month overall, and July was its
warmest month ever. The state¡¯s average temperature was 30.4 degrees Celsius during the hot summer
months. Texas is also suffering from the worst drought ever due to the hot
weather. Agriculture is the state¡¯s
main industry, but the scorching temperatures have
burned crops. Texas is also famous
for its stock farming and the image
of the cowboy. Sadly, many ranchers lost their livestock due to a lack of water. Fish and other
wildlife are also struggling
as lakes and rivers are drying up across
the state. Let¡¯s hope it rains a lot in Texas soon! |
