During his 14-year reign as the CEO of the most valuable company in the world, Steve Jobs revolutionized the personal-computer and music industries and changed the way people think about technology. He was the creative genius behind Apple¡¯s successful iPod, iPhone, and iPad series and the founder of Pixar, the animation studio behind Toy Story, Finding Nemo, WALL-E, and Cars. Sadly, Jobs passed away on October 5, 2011 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. However, he will soon come to life on the big screen!

Even today, almost seven months after his death, many people remain fascinated with Jobs. Part of that interest stems from his personality - which was often described as reserved and private. Jobs rarely granted interviews and he fiercely protected his personal life. When author Walter Isaacson¡¯s authorized biography of Jobs was released on October 24, just 19 days after his death, it instantly became a worldwide bestseller. In addition, two movie studios have lined up to release a film on Jobs¡¯ life.

Jobs, an independent film, will chronicle Jobs¡¯ rise from a rebellious hippie to one of the most influential people of the 21st century. Recently, it was reported that actor Ashton Kutcher was chosen to play the late Apple founder. Kutcher, who currently stars on Two and a Half Men, is scheduled to shoot the film during a production hiatus in the television series.

The 34-year-old actor is no stranger to the technology world. In 2009, Kutcher became the first user on Twitter to gain more than one million followers. He has also invested in a number of technology companies including Skype and FourSquare. This will be his second role as a technology mogul. In Two and a Half Men, his character is an internet billionaire.

However, public response to Kutcher¡¯s casting has been negative. According to a recent poll, more than 61 percent of respondents said Kutcher was a poor choice to play Jobs, adding that the part should have gone to an unknown actor. About 14 percent of those surveyed said they would go see the movie regardless of the actor picked to play the legendary CEO.

Another major studio, Sony Pictures, is also developing a movie about Jobs based on Isaacson¡¯s biography. Simply titled Steve Jobs, no further details have been released about the highly anticipated movie. Are you ready to meet Jobs on screen?
