Who doesn¡¯t want to be a supermodel? They are beautiful, tall, rich, and the envy of millions of women around the world. Supermodels work for famous fashion designers and labels, have multi-million dollar contracts and endorsement deals, and get worldwide recognition. Most models are usually in their 30s. However, meet Daphne Selfe. She is a very special supermodel. This is because she is 83 years old! That makes her the world¡¯s oldest supermodel!

Selfe made headlines last week for agreeing to pose in a bra and corset ensemble that pop singer Madonna made famous back in 1990.
Her photo shoot was part of a marketing campaign for Oxfam, an international relief and development organization. It is currently holding the Big Bra Hunt, a campaign to gather bra donations to send to woman in developing countries, who might not otherwise be able to afford access them.
The first shipments of donated bras will be sent to Senegal, West Africa. The group hopes to collect more than 1 million bras.
Despite the positive attention her new photograph has received, Selfe says she¡¯s not interested in becoming a full-time model. ¡°I would never make it,¡± she joked. ¡°I am too short with wide shoulders. But no one ever asked me to lose weight.¡±

The British beauty grew up in Berkshire, England, and got her start in modeling after winning a local newspaper¡¯s modeling competition in the 1950s. She said she started off modeling fur, and then mainly got work as a house model and in a few advertisements. ¡°I¡¯d been told I was nice looking a couple of times but was never considered beautiful,¡± she said modestly.
Selfe still built an impressive portfolio throughout her career, modeling for Dolce & Gabbana, Olay, and Gap. She also appeared in fashion magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, and Harper¡¯s Bazaar.

Selfe credits her beauty and youthful appearance to good genes and creams. She also avoided drugs and alcohol while working in the industry. And although many young women today are open about plastic surgery, Selfe denies that she received any cosmetic surgery. ¡°I¡¯ve never had anything done to my face,¡± she said. ¡°Not that poison, not a facelift. I think it¡¯s a waste of money. I couldn¡¯t afford it!¡±
