Asians have dark brown eyes. In fact, brown is the most
common eye color in the world.
However, many people in Western countries have different eye colors. Some
people have blue eyes, while others have green eyes.
Many people admire people with blue eyes.
This is because blue eyes are very beautiful. In order to have blue eyes,
some people wear colored contact lenses.
To our surprise, an American doctor recently discovered a way to turn brown eyes blue! Dr.
Gregg Homer of Stroma Medical in California said a simple 20-second laser treatment could turn
brown eyes blue. The treatment uses a laser to remove the brown pigment called “melanin”
from the upper layer of the iris. Then, the blue color
replaces the melanin. The
whole process takes about two to
three weeks. This special treatment could be available in countries outside
America within 18 months.
“The eyes are the windows to the soul,” said Dr. Homer. “Brown
eyes are very opaque. But you can see deeply into blue eyes. Having
clear blue eyes can be very meaningful.” However, once you go through the procedure, you can never
have your brown eyes back again. This is because the melanin will
not grow back and cannot be replaced.
